Understanding the Suicidal Bomber : Psychology Minds of Bombers

The Psychology behind those who Bomb: The act of war is in many ways an act of anger, rage, and discontentment, it could be personal or labeled spiritual. Either an act of revenge or a crusade for a God, the act of killing and destroying with a bombs has its basis in rage. Suicide bombers are normally drawn to kill themselves because of two reasons: religious motivation or national motivation. Often time the suicide bombers are completely brain washed by the people who want them to finish their tasks for them. Other common attributes of a Suicide Bombers are they lack social skills, commonly come from under classed families, and mentally weak.

Those who would act in the name of their God, religion or political group do with the same intense anger, however, it is usually not from such a personal level. Here the bomber believes at his core that he is helping his cause and or doing the will of his God. The religious teacher brainwashes the bombers to a point where they are thoughtless to anything around them, including their own family. In addition, these religious leaders tell the unfortunate bombers that they were “born to kill others”. It is also thought the suicide bomber in fact is only masking his anger, behind the preserved justification of his act.

Religious militant groups are responsible for almost all recent suicide attacks. These religious leaders usually seek out young men who are sympathetic to the religious cause. The young males are then usually segregated in small units. Then the small units are indoctrinated by exploiting them through either religious or military means. The militant leaders instill that self sacrifice is noble and the units mission is righteous and heroic. And finally, all of the members in the unit make a declaration to their goal at hand. After this group reinforcement, it is extremely difficult for an individual to psychologically leave the group or back out of the suicide bombing pact.

The suicide recruitment steps mentioned above are used in 99% of all suicide attacks from Japan kamikaze pilots to 9/11 hijackers. The psychologically pull on individuals in small groups is very powerful and proven to be ideal to create potential suicidal bombers. The power of the group lead by evil can cause unimaginable evil. It is not uncommon for suicidal bombers to have never broken a law in their life before their final act.

This is why it is important to understand bombers and the fact is, they are simple pawns who are lead to act in this manner.

If caught in war and acting on the behalf his country, the justification is still very real and very present and the under lying aggression that lives within the individual is projected through the act of protecting his country or nation. The need to express his personal explosive rage is honored when it is connected to the fight for freedom.

We as a people have a need to feel superior to others and when our past has left us vulnerable to the ways of others and the world, there are those who will remain victims and those who will seek revenge. The need to watch the suffering of others comes from a deep seeded hatred of the world around. Killing is the ultimate act of revenge. The desire to watch as the objects and people around explode in a bombing is a projection of the explosive anger within the individual. When bombers act from this personal level they are for the most part, acting alone. Though they may be associated with a group, it is unlikely that they are acting for the group. A need to satisfy their own hatred and feel the power of control over life itself is at the core of the action.

In all cases, it is the discontentment, and anger at the world around that is at the core of all violence. Education, future hope, and reduction of poverty in trouble areas could help to prevent future suicidal bombers. It is also important to remember generally, the actual bombers did not and could not have made the plan to blow themselves up. The bombers are lead by evil doers who have the formula to generate small units with a common goal of suicidal destruction.
